In this project for The Seasonal Group's Christmas VR experience, my primary focus was on asset creation, reuse, and placement. My initial contribution involved modeling the hero asset: a Christmas tree with a floating Steampunk-style base. To achieve the desired flexibility in shaping the tree, I employed a procedural approach utilizing cloners with effectors, supplemented by a ramp for precise control over its final form. I also handled the integration of media assets onto the crown, adorning it with fleur-de-lis, garlands, baubles, and twinkling lights.

As the project evolved, refinements were made to the Christmas tree base to enhance its alignment with the overall aesthetic. A significant aspect of my role involved the seamless integration of assets into Unreal Engine 5. This encompassed overseeing the production and application of textures, as well as optimizing older assets for peak performance.

To enrich the festive atmosphere, dynamic elements such as twinkling Christmas lights were incorporated.
Additionally, I introduced a captivating sequence featuring a dramatic Formula 1-style countdown displayed in fluorescent lights within the cannon's breach. This sequence culminated in a thrilling moment where viewers are propelled into the night sky, witnessing a D-day-style parachute drop carrying presents. Utilising Marvelous Designer, I simulated the parachute, while presents were added in C4D before importing into Unreal Engine 5 and integrating into the scene.

The journey continues as we soar over the picturesque Lapland village nestled amidst snow-covered plateaus, accompanied by industrialise areas housing Santa's workshop. Meticulous attention was given to curating the environment, with the addition of pine trees, street lamps with area lights and emissive textures, and icicles along the roof lines, all contributing to the immersive Christmas ambiance

utilising Kitbash and the models I made along with some freebie’s, I created numerous variations to maintain visual interest. Throughout the project, I remained committed to ensuring consistency in asset design, optimising performance, and enhancing user immersion. My dedication to meeting deadlines was evident, as I often worked tirelessly, even waking at 3 am on multiple occasions to initiate renders and propel the project toward its final delivery.
